The doctor who taught me Sociology on seminars during the first semester is haunting me today, honestly...

Firstly, today morning I bought a newspaper and what I found there? An interview with him, as a leader of a branch of a political party in Warsaw, with main topic: current party's programme. And guess what's now? A radio broadcast with him, now as a sociologist, talking about teenagers and whether they are as bad as we think and how they think of themselves.

Someone's getting popular?

I guess... Go, Sebastian :). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you - you're a good, smart guy and seeing you as an actually active politician would be really great. I wish you had gotten to the Parliament in last elections.

And now it's real Euro Cup.

Germany vs. Portugal (3:2) - that's what I call football. I don't remember getting excited over a football match that much in a long, long time. I just wish I had the occasion to see it on TV (I only listened to the radio broadcast).

Oh my...

Anna Laszuk and Kazimiera Szczuka together in one radio broadcast - I think my life is complete now.

&hearts &hearts &hearts &hearts &hearts

If in this broadcast were also Agnieszka Graff, Magdalena Środa and Bożena Umińska, I would be the happiest little feminist in the world. X3.

Though the discussed topic was nothing to be happy about...

"We have to get to know each other better ...
... it makes us understand one another better,
trust each other more, and live together more peacefully."

Under this motto, the UNITED BUDDY BEARS promote living together in peace and harmony on their global tour. Around 140 Buddy Bears (each 2 m tall) represent as many countries recognised by the United Nations.

Since the first exhibition in Berlin in 2002, more than 17 million visitors world-wide have been able to admire the United Buddy Bears.

Message: The Buddy Bears stand together hand in hand in a peaceful circle, promoting tolerance and under-standing among different nations, cultures and religions.

Art and Culture: Each Buddy Bear has been designed by an artist on behalf of his or her native country. The international artists’ different styles are joined together in one work of art, spreading zest for life. The diverse design of the Buddy Bears – always typical for the respective countries – enables the visitors to experience a journey around the globe.

Charity: Buddy Bear activities and aid for children in need have formed an inseparable unit. To date, over USD 2,200,000 (up to March 2008) have been raised through donations and auctions in aid of UNICEF and local child relief organizations.

From United Buddy Bears Official Website

Bears are in alphabetical order (according to Polish names of the countries, so it doesn't always mean that it would be the same way in English), names of Bears listed from the right side of the photo to the left (I hope you got the idea ^___^;;).

Photos of Buddy Bears; WARNING: quite many images, but fortunately all are thumbnails )

Whoa, I have never spent so much time preparing a single entry @____@;;.

They're awesome, I think, both as an idea and pieces of art. Their existence is only pretty symbolic, but we need such symbols in our postmodernist times.

Okay, I feel generous today - you may request photos of individual Bears, both from front and back (yes, their backs are also painted). Requests are open until June 21st (since Buddy Bears are in Warsaw till 22nd). Pick your favourites! ^____^

...and I totally forgot that again there are some maintenance works in the water heating system and that I won't have warm water today from 7 a.m. till 6 p.m..

I had to take an ice-cold shower and wash my hair in this freezing water. D:

Never. Ever. Again.

I think calling a soy chop a "vegetarian schnitzel" is some kind of wicked perversion....

Not that this chop isn't tasty... It is, really. Just provided me with source of amusement for today.

I'm having some rest today (continuous stress for 3-4 weeks doesn't do any good to me), so I decided to finally post photos taken more than a month ago.

I swear, 30 degrees Celsius is some kind of magical barrier above which my brain stops working. And that's not a good omen while I have Economy exam tomorrow.

Failed Basic Knowledge of Law ;A;. I shouldn't be so surprised, considering the amount of time I spent on studying (= not enough). I'm going to retake the test on 23rd, though.

And because I love to procrastinate I have too much time on my hands, a meme (stolen from [livejournal.com profile] nina_nicky):

Provide me with a fandom TV, Film, Books, etc. and I'll answer the following questions for that fandom...

1. The first character I first fell in love with
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer
6. The character that bores me
7. The character I'd want to be like
8. The character I'd slap
9. A pairing that I love
10. A pairing that I despise
semeru: (Default)
As expected, the Basic Knowledge of Law test was hell. Hell, I tell you! Well, not that I studied too much on that topic but, meh... >_<;; Anyways, I will have to take that test one more time in September. Oh well, life.

Some happier news: I think I did marvellously 8D exceptionally well at my German test. Seems that I finally managed to understand the declination *sheds tears of joy*. I succeeded at writing an informal letter - it wasn't as difficult as I thought (and that was the part I was most afraid of). So, I regained my belief that I'm actually able to learn that language (^_^)b.

I just checked the outcomes of the test I took on Wednesday - passed, phew. With not necessarily good grade, but still. I promised myself to read more on that topic (integrative processes in Europe, yes) during my vacation because I will be needing this knowledge in the future.

Now, to waste more precious time relax a little more, a meme taken from [livejournal.com profile] yami_chan:

1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List (and upload, if you feel like it) 5 songs that start with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

I got K:

1. Kaidoku Funou - ジン
2. Kaze no Machi e - FictionJunction KEIKO
3. Konfesjonał - Jacek Kaczmarski
4. Kekkon Shiki no Uta - Miyavi
5. Kotów kat ma oczy zielone - Pidżama Porno

No that I don't feel like uploading them, just my internet connection is extremely slow and probably won't manage to take so many kilobytes... If someone is really interested in some of those, I will upload it. And yes, [livejournal.com profile] kleinesternchen, I will send you that song ^_^;; - sorry that you have to wait so long.

EDIT: Yay, I'm actually able to upload those songs :D. So I will - it'll just take some time.

UPLOADED :D &hearts .

...for the previous post.

I'm having hard time now. And this should be understood as: "I'm having test and exams". I know that I'm making this overly dramatic, but that's the way that I am - always panicking and worrying too much. Another normal thing for me is that when I'm under a lot of stress I tend to get really sleepy; as if my body couldn't stand the tension. Yes, I know that I'm weird ^_^;;.

I've already had two test. Buuut, I took only one. You may ask why - I just decided that I don't necessarily need a good grade when this grade wouldn't count at all and I passed with well, passing grade (lack of ambition or RL?) - I achieved that one by being active at the seminar. Anyways, I'll have to take an exam, most probably oral one, on the same topic and material, so I'm going to study more on that anyways.
The second test - ouch. Well, it could have been worse, but it could have been better also. I just feel a little ashamed that I don't know enough about recent happenings in EU - Treaty of Lisbon (I'm familiar with a mere outline of what will change on January 1st 2009) and counting votes in Council of EU - no matter how to look at it, it will, at some point, affect me >_>;;. And I'm definitely ashamed of the fact that I don't know the history of my country's relations with EU (dates of announcing the will to enter EU, beginning of the negotiations - I just know when they were finished, when the treaty has been signed, and when Poland entered EU) *is now brick red*. Oh well, we'll se the outcome.

Incoming tests ('cause I need to organise it a bit and make it clear for myself):
1) Monday - Basic Knowledge of Law
2) Monday also - German (I'm really worried about that one...)
3) Wednesday - Protection of Intellectual Property in Europe
4) Thursday - History of Political Institutions

I don't really know how I'm gonna make it...

I swear, Single European Act (or rather all the committees preparing it) is going to kill me. I hope I'll finish it before 2 a.m. or otherwise I'll be dead tomorrow morning and totally unable to present my work.

Only Adonino's Committee and summing up, only those two... >.>

Dear hornets,

I am aware of the fact that you enjoy flying into my room. I am able to understand that sitting on my curtains is one of your favourite past-times. Yet, the truth is that I'm afraid of you - you are big, buzzing, stinging insects. I do not want to discriminate you anyhow but I would prefer you to stay out of my room.

Yours scared sincerely,

I thought that after the garden on the rooftop the university library won't surprise me any more. I couldn't be more wrong; today I found, on the 1st floor, in the Music, Architecture & Arts department, an original chashitsu. (o_o);;

Finally, I decided that it's the highest time to do some work; end of therm approaches, in month and a half, and certain someone has to pass her exams >__>;;. So I happily xero-copied some materials and now I'll be reading them and forming something proper out of gained knowledge - a presentation on commissions working on SEA (Single European Act - what did you think?) (deadline - Wednesday, 8 a.m.) and a paper on islam in era of globalisation (deadline - mid-May) - hopefully...

I could do that stuff tomorrow or on Sunday, of course. But nooo, I had to sign up for a gender workshop (yes, I am impossible XD;;). It's a really great thing and I don't want to resign *sight*. Having to choose between those two breaks my heart -_-;;. In two hours I will have to make up my mind. FINALLY. I've been changing my decision several time already...
EDIT: I resigned... TT^TT

Random things:
1. Although today's sunny and warm, I'm wearing a black turtleneck. Dunno why.
2. I just reached into my book-bag looking for small bottle of mineral water I storaged there (I alwys have mineral water with me ^^;;) and I found... A loaf of bread. I forgot I bought it. >__>;;
3. I'm typing British Engilsh because I was thought that way so STFU LJ spellcheck ;P (finally I've said that...).

Mostly your emotions are on an even keel and you do not get depressed easily, however you experience panic, confusion, and helplessness when under pressure or stress. You are an active group participant but usually prefer to let someone else be the group leader. You are eager to try new activities, travel to foreign lands, and experience different things. You find familiarity and routine boring, and will take a new route home just because it is different. You dislike confrontations and are perfectly willing to compromise or to deny your own needs in order to get along with others, however you feel superior to those around you and sometimes tend to be seen as arrogant by other people. Mostly you work towards achieving your best, although in some areas you are content just to get the job done.

I think I might me the most stupid person on Earth...

It is highly possible that I indeed do have water... Just it's cold. You see, there shouldn't be so much tap water in the pipes. Of course, there would be some water (and it would turn yellow) but after a while it should stop and there should be those choking noises. Yet, it doesn't stop and it's perfectly clear. O.o

Seems that my jumpy and panicking nature won over reason. And I exaggerated the whole situation. I just hope my flatmate won't notice that; she'd kill me >_>;;.

Okay, you can officially laugh at me now.

My presentation was an utter failure. No more comments on that. >_>;;
